Creating an OpenAI Account

Visit OpenAI Platform
Go to platform.openai.com and click ‘Sign Up’ to create a new account, or ‘Log In’ if you already have one.

Complete Verification
Verify your email address and phone number to complete account setup.

Add Payment Method
Navigate to Settings > Billing and add a payment method. OpenAI uses pay-as-you-go pricing.

Set Usage Limits
Optionally set monthly spending limits under Settings > Limits to control costs.
Generating Your API Key

Access API Keys Page
In your OpenAI dashboard, go to API Keys (or visit platform.openai.com/api-keys directly).

Create New Key
Click ‘Create new secret key’ and give it a name like ‘AI Image SEO’.

Copy the Key
Copy the generated key immediately – it won’t be shown again. Store it securely.
Keep Your Key Secure
Never share your API key publicly or commit it to version control. Anyone with your key can make API calls on your account.
Configuring in AI Image SEO

Open Plugin Settings
In WordPress, go to Media > AI Image SEO > Settings > API Keys.

Enter OpenAI Key
Paste your API key in the ‘OpenAI API Key’ field.

Test Connection
Click ‘Test Connection’ to verify the key works correctly.

Click ‘Save Settings’ to store your configuration.
